Tyre Valve

WHY SHOULD MY VALVE BE CHANGED EVERYTIME THE TYRE IS REMOVED?

The valve plays an important role in the service life of your tyre, it is also vital for the tyre to be airtight. Valves that are not changed regularly can cause safety implications, as it gets older the valve will deteriorate and can cause air loss. As it may lose air slowly you may not be aware straight away, this can cause the tyre to become damaged as it runs lower on air.

The valve should be changed every time a new tyre is fitted or if the tyre is removed for repair or examination. Dont forget the valve cap, as this also needs to be kept in good condition to keep dirt out of the valve. Be careful if you choose to use a metal valve cap as this can sometimes become corroded on the valve.
